Relations

Description

Diplomatic relations define the status between two Territories and can be configured via the Diplomatic Menu of any Territory.

If a worsening relation is proposed (e.g., from Neutral to Embargo), it will take effect immediately. If a better relation is proposed (e.g., from War to Neutral), it will require mutual approval from both parties.

Diplomatic proposals trigger a Newsletter notification and can be accepted through the "Diplomatic Proposals" menu.

Types

Relations are divided into two categories:

Classic relations :

These are standard diplomatic statuses:

  • Alliance

  • Non aggresion pact

  • Neutral

  • Embargo

  • War

Hierarchic relations :

These define hierarchical relationships between territories:

  • Self (Shared by all players of the same town)

  • Overlord (Replace Neutral)

  • Vassal (replace Neutral)

Effects & Permissions

Each relation can have custom effects, configurable by administrators. The following options are available:

  • Is PVP allowed between players?

  • Can the territory declare or join wars against the other? (only applies to hostile relations)

  • Can players buy or rent properties in the other territory?

  • Can players walk on the other territory's land?

  • Is a truce period triggered when the relation is broken?

Truce

If a relation with an active truce clause is broken, a truce period is enforced:

  • During this time, neither territory can initiate a hostile relation (worse than Neutral).

  • The duration of this truce is configurable in days.
