Wars and attacks

Learn how to properly wage wars and enforce your war goals

War goals

When declaring a hostile relation with another territory, the attacking side must select one or more war goals. These objectives define the purpose and potential outcomes of the war.

Available War Goals

  • Conquer : Allows the attacker to claim chunks from the defender.

  • Capture landmark : The attacker aims to seize a specific landmark held by the defender.

  • Capture fort : The attacker attempts to capture a fort controlled by the defender.

  • Subjugate : Forces the defending territory to become part of the attacker’s territory.

  • Liberate : Forces the defending territory to release one of its vassals.

Additional war goals may be added by either side at any time, except:

  • After an attack has been declared and its countdown has started.

  • During an active attack.

Attacks

While a war is ongoing, each side has the ability to initiate attacks against the other.

Admin Approval for Wars

Server administrators may require manual approval for all attacks by enabling the following setting in the configuration file:

AdminApproval: true

With this setting enabled, each attack must be approved by an administrator through the admin GUI. This adds an additional layer of control and oversight over warfare activity.

During these attacks, the offensive side can attempt to capture chunks belonging to the main defender by maintaining a presence on them for a specified duration. However, if the defending side has a greater number of players present in the contested chunk, the capture will be blocked and the area will remain contested.

Each attack lasts for a predetermined amount of time. Once the attack concludes, any successfully captured chunks remain under the attacker's control in a special "occupied" state, distinct from fully claimed territory.

Chunks can be protected by forts, which are defensive structures providing protection to all chunks within a certain radius. In order to capture a protected chunk, attackers must first capture all forts that cover it. Similarly, forts that have been captured or originally owned by the attackers will provide protection to the surrounding captured chunks, preventing them from being recaptured by the enemy as long as the forts remain under attacker control.

Joining an attack

After an attack is declared, all other territories may choose to join a side through the "Attacks" menu.

  • Territories can switch sides or withdraw until the attack's scheduled start time.

  • Once an attack is declared, new war goals cannot be added, ensuring that all participating territories agree on the initial terms of the conflict.

End of War

A war will end under the following conditions:

  • One side surrenders.

  • All claimed chunks and forts of one side have been captured.

Upon war conclusion:

  • All war goals from the victorious side are automatically enforced.

  • The diplomatic relation between both territories is reset to neutral.

White peace will be added in the future
